The Serbian Public Health Association
The Public Health Association of Serbia (PHAS) was founded on October 28, 2003 by a group of likeminded public health professionals who felt the need for the association and who were inspired and supported by CPHA. The founding assembly was attended by about 500 interested health and non-health professionals. In March 2004, PHAS was registered with the Ministry for Human and Minority Rights. Today, the association has 600 members as well as 10 branches.
The activities of the Serbian Public Association/SPHA/ are following:
- realization of projects, researches, action and intervention in field of public health
- organization of seminars-Health Promotion Summer School and public health in various communities in Serbia
- organization of conferences and the Annual General meeting
- Quarterly publication and distribution of newsletters for associations members
- research on public opinion regarding public health matters of National importance
- membership in Europian Public Health Association (EUPHA) and World Federation of Public Health Association (WPHA)
- web site running and updating to keep membership and public informed about possibilities to involve interested people in Association`s work and provide access to important information regarding public health around thr world
- cooperation with orher NGOs and associations.
